Though just recently launched, the reviews for the new Premium Leather Flight Case BriefCase / Backpack are starting to be added to the Flight Case product page and so far the reviews are a consistent 5 stars across the board. 



Andrie from Vancouver wrote to share his experience : "This Flight Case is just the right size to grab a laptop, a stack of papers, a few accessories, passport, and plane tickets. Design is very lean and functional, the leather and interior padding is excellent quality, everything is top notch. Just the thing I kept looking for for ages, but could not find. Finally Sylvain from Toronto who had a first run version of the design wrote to share : "This new Flight Case is simply fantastic!  It's the perfect size for a 15" Macbook Pro, leaves some room for papers, iPad, and such extras without too much bulk so that you are not encouraged to carry the entire office in it.  The removable pouch at the front is a nice touch. If you need more room to maximize  inside storage - get the larger one.  The vertical shape falls naturally down when holding the bag on your shoulder as opposed to a regular (horizontal) office bag that often gets in the way of people in a crowded airport.  It looks and is first class. "

Several additional emails have come in from Flight Case owners who are using their Flight Case leather briefcase with the leather backpack option almost exclusively. Professor Max from Princeton wrote to tell us he is using the Flight Case as a backpack on campus and is having great results. "The bag holds everything I need for a day in the classroom but wearing the case as a backpack allows me to keep my hands free (to carry my coffee!) which makes getting around campus so much easier." He also mentioned that with most of the students using a backpack of some sort, the Flight Case is sort of the professional version of that, which he appreciated.

Lastly, Karl wrote to us from New York City to tell he's commuting with his Flight Case in backpack mode on his motorcycle. "The case is great. The backpack strap option is substantial and well worth the money. I can really tighten the case down and because it's not bulky, it doesn't affect the handling while I'm riding. When I get to work and take off my riding gear, I unclip the straps and have a fully professional leather briefcase I can take into any meeting. It's just brilliant design all the way around."

The Leather Briefcase and the Impact of Color

One design, same function, two very different statements.

Color has an almost universal way of influencing the things we buy and the colors we buy them in. Take automobiles. A car can take on a totally different character depending on the color. The same car looks much racier in a bright red than it looks in white or silver. Color can also change our perception of what a product is. Look at how effective Apple was at taking people's perception of what a computer was supposed to look like (boring beige box) and turn it on it's head with the introduction of the original Bondi blue iMac. "Thats a computer?" was often heard upon a person first seeing the form.

While we have seen our MacCase designs influenced by the colors we have chosen to create then in, I don't think there has been a product as influenced by color as our new Premium Leather Briefcase. The new fully structured leather briefcase really has two completely different characters depending on which of the two colors you choose.

The vintage version, like all our other vintage models somehow speaks to a distant past and a not too distant future at the same time. Many reviewers have called our designs in that color "retro-futuristic". If you saw one in a movie where the main character rode into the shot on a horse you'd totally believe it. If you saw one in a sic-fic movie where the main character rode into the shot on a levitating motorcycle, you'd believe that too. As a leather briefcase, the vintage Flight Case is romantic and heroic in a way that the idea of America is heroic.

It allows a person to dream of bigger, more exciting things even if they are just waiting for a bus. If a product can operate at that level it's doing something right. We try to make them timeless, without trend and anti-fashion. The vintage Flight Case leather briefcase embodies all of these characteristics and more. The vintage hides we use insure that no two cases are exactly the same and will patina in over time so your case will only look like your case. The black Flight Case is all business

If the vintage Flight Case is a leather briefcase for mavericks and visionaries, the black pebble grain model is all business. It's the most traditionally professional case we have ever made.
